09/09/2013 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15293 <br /> RESOLUTION OF NOTICE OF INTENT TO VACATE A PORTION OF <br /> BRADFORD STREET IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY PURSUANT <br /> TO PART 3 OF DIVISION 9, CALIFORNIA STREETS AND HIGHWAYS <br /> CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Part 3 (commencing at Section 8300) <br /> of Division 9 of the California Streets and Highways Code, the City Council of the City of <br /> Redwood City ("City Council"), hereby declares its intention to vacate an excess portion <br /> of City right-of-way within Bradford Street as deeded to the City on that deed recorded <br /> on January 5, 1897, appearing in Deed Book 73, Page 518 of the Official Record of the <br /> County of San Mateo; of which the legal description is attached hereto as Exhibit A and <br /> Exhibit B; and <br /> WHEREAS, a condition of approval for the planned development proposed at <br /> 601 Main Street requires disposition of a portion of the Bradford Street right of way, <br /> identified as the highlighted trapezoidal area depicted and described on Exhibits A and <br /> Exhibit B, attached hereto ("Vacation Area") prior to City's consideration or approval of <br /> the Parcel Map; and <br /> WHEREAS, attached to Exhibit C (Public Hearing Notice.) is a map or plan and <br /> legal description that shows the area intended to be vacated; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to said provisions of the California Streets and Highways <br /> Code, notice of intention to vacate the herein described portion of the Walnut Street <br /> right of way shall be published and posted in substantially the form attached hereto as <br /> Exhibit C; and <br /> WHEREAS, a noticed public hearing on the question of vacating portions of <br /> Bradford Street, as described below, shall be held and evidence thereon received by <br /> the City Council on October 7, 2013; and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1.
