11/04/2013 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15303 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. ONE (1) TO THE <br /> FRANCHISE AGREEMENT WITH RECOLOGY SAN MATEO <br /> COUNTY FOR RECYCLABLE MATERIALS, ORGANIC MATERIALS <br /> AND SOLID WASTE COLLECTION SERVICES <br /> WHEREAS, The City of Redwood City executed a ten year Franchise <br /> Agreement with Recology San Mateo County ("Recology") for Recyclable Materials, <br /> Organic Materials and Solid Waste Collection Services ("Franchise Agreement"), <br /> commencing on January 1, 2011; and <br /> WHEREAS, in October 2012, an adhoc Subcommittee of the SBWMA Board <br /> of Directors was convened to assist SBWMA Staff with scoping and negotiating <br /> several improvements and clarifying changes to the SBWMA Member Agencies' <br /> Franchise Agreements with Recology with the intent to reduce costs and streamline <br /> contract language; and <br /> WHEREAS, Recology has concurred with the proposed Amendment No. One <br /> (1) as presented in Attachment 1; and <br /> WHEREAS, on March 28, 2013, the SBWMA Board adopted a resolution <br /> recommending that the proposed Amendment No. One (1) be approved by each of <br /> the individual Member Agencies. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of <br /> Redwood City does hereby approve: <br /> 1. Amendment No. One (1) to the Franchise Agreement, as provided in <br /> Attachment 1. <br /> 2.
