By signing the petition you are demonstrating your support for the CBID <br /> and will enable the process to move to the mail balloting phase. Property owners representing a <br /> minimum of 30%of the total assessments in the CBID must sign a petition in order to bring this issue to <br /> an official mail ballot vote. The petition includes information regarding your specific parcel(s) <br /> assessment—the amount and percentage of the total assessment. The petition must be signed by the <br /> legal owner or an authorized representative. Your prompt return of the petition would be <br /> appreciated. Please return no later than Friday,May 30,2014. <br /> When the minimum 30%weighted petition threshold is reached,Redwood City City Council will consider <br /> adopting a "Reso/ution of Intent"to mail out ballots to all affected property awners. Batlots would be <br /> mailed to property owners the first two weeks of June and the ballots will be due to be returned by the <br /> public hearing,tentatively scheduled for July 28th,2014. In order for the Downtown Redwood City CBID <br /> to be adopted by the City Council,50%plus one of the weighted ballots returned must be in favor of the <br /> formation of the Downtown Redwood City CBID. <br /> If the Downtown Redwood City CBID is established, an annual assessment will be collected from each <br /> property owner on their county property tax bilts beginning with the bill due on December 2014. <br /> Assessment funds would be managed, under contract with the City, by a non-profit organization made <br /> up of primarily of the property owners that pay into the CBID. Each year that non-profit organiaation <br /> would present to the City the assessment rate and program for the upcoming year. <br /> This package includes a summary of the Downtown Redwood City CBID 2014 Management District Plan <br /> (the full plan is available upon request), your petition and a return envelope.
