11/17/2014
A. To establish and designate by signage, Electric Charging Parking Only
spaces for use by electric vehicles within any off-street parking facility
owned or operated by the City. Electric Charging Parking Only spaces
shall be indicated by signage in compliance with the California Vehicle
Code.
B. To establish and designate by signage, a time limit of 4 hours for
Electric Charging Parking Only parking spaces. The purpose of the
time limit is to turn over the Electric Charging Parking Only spaces to
allow additional electric vehicles, including EV and PHEV vehicles,
access to the Electric Charging Parking Only parking spaces. Based
upon the actual utilization rate at each Electric Charging Parking Only
space, the City Manager may adjust the time limit to maximize the use
of these resources.
C. To determine the location and number of such Electric-Charging
Parking Only spaces, provided however, the number of spaces shall
be limited to a number appropriate to accomplish the goals of this
program without unduly interfering with access to public parking by
others.
5. The following Electricity Usage Fees shall apply:
A. Level I & II stations: $1.50/hour
B. DC Fast Charge stations: $5.00/hour
The proposed usage fees would enable the City to recover energy and operational
costs expended on the existing Electric Vehicle Charging infrastructure at various City
facilities. As energy and operational costs change; the City Manager may adjust the
usage fees to cover these costs.
6. Any vehicle parking or occupying an Electric-Charging Parking Only
parking space must be actively being charged.
ATTY/RES0.3037/CC RESO ADOPTING AN ELECTRIC CHARGING PARKING PROGRAM RESO.#15381
REV:10-27-14 VR MUFF#703
