06/22/2015 <br /> WHEREAS, the current alternatives under study for the PROJECT will require certain <br /> right of way acquisition and certification activities that the City wishes to undertake during the <br /> design phase of the PROJECT, and the City desires to secure funding for these activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, it will cost $3,900,000 (in addition to the previously reported va/ue for <br /> design) to implement the increased design phase of the PROJECT and $32,000,000 to <br /> implement the right of way acquisition and certification activities of the PROJECT, or the sum <br /> total of$35,900,000 for the PROJECT; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City wishes to sponsor the implementation of the PROJECT; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City seeks $14,060,000 in San Mateo County Measure A Highway <br /> Program funds for the PROJECT; and <br /> WHEREAS, on June 7, 1988, the voters of San Mateo County approved a ballot <br /> measure to allow the collection and distribution by the TA of a half-cent transactions and use tax <br /> in San Mateo County for 25 years, with the tax revenues to be used for highway and transit <br /> improvements pursuant to the Transportation Expenditure Plan presented to the voters (Original <br /> Measure A); and <br /> WHEREAS, on November 2, 2004, the voters of San Mateo County approved the <br /> continuation of the collection and distribution by the TA the half-cent transactions and use tax <br /> for an additional 25 years to implement the 2004 Transportation Expenditure Plan beginning <br /> January 1, 2009 (New Measure A); and <br /> WHEREAS, the TA issued a Call for Projects for the Measure A Highway Program funds <br /> on May 8, 2015, and <br /> WHEREAS, the TA requires a governing board resolution from the City in support of the <br /> City's application for $14,060,000 in San Mateo County Measure A Highway Program funds for <br /> the PROJECT; and <br /> WHEREAS, the TA requires a governing board resolution from the City committing the <br /> City to the completion of the PROJECT. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> ATTY/RES0.3102/CC RESO 101/WOODSIDE INTERCHANGE PROJECT RESO. 15419 <br /> REV:06-15-15 VR MUFF#613 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br />
