06/13/2016 RESOLUTION NO. 15497 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, FIXING TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING UPON THE FORMATION OF R O O S E V E L T A V E N U E UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT 2016-1 WHEREAS, Redwood City proposes to remove existing overhead utility lines and other appurtenances except high voltage power lines, and place said utility lines and other appurtenances underground on Roosevelt Avenue befinreen Valota Road and Upton Street; and WHEREAS, this Council is authorized to form an Underground Utility District after holding a public hearing in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 11 of the Redwood City Code, and WHEREAS, service pedestals, transformers, utility boxes, support poles with anchors, and any other facilities that cannot be undergrounded will remain above ground within the proposed District, and WHEREAS, PG&E will be the lead for the electric panel service conversions and will pay the costs for the electric panel conversions up to $1,500 per residence (one thousand five hundred dollars) within the proposed District, and the City will pay for panel conversion cost above said amount if any. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: THAT the recitals set forth above are true and correct, and are incorporated herein by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety; and THAT this City Council will hold a public hearing to determine whether the public necessity, health, safety or welfare require the formation of an Underground Utility District (to be designated the Roosevelt Avenue Utility District 2016-1) and the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated overhead structures within the area, said District being described in Exhibit "A" entitled "Legal Description for the Roosevelt Avenue Underground Utility District" and shown on Exhibit "B", the boundary map entitled "Plat of Roosevelt Avenue Underground Utility District". Exhibits A and B are attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. Said Public Hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m., July 25, 2016, City Council Chambers, 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, California.
