09/12/2016 <br /> Advisory Committee, the recommendation of the Planning Commission, and the <br /> accompanying staff report; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the Main Street Historic District Expansion, the <br /> expanded historic district would consist of the following addresses and related <br /> assessor's parcel numbers (addresses and parcel numbers of contributing <br /> properties in bold): 1991, 2000, 2020, 2022-2024 Broadway; 726, 800, 831-835, <br /> 839, 847-849, 855-857, 863, 875, 901, 909-911, 917-921, 929, 935, 999, 1001, <br /> 1101 Main Street; 1204 Middlefield Road; and 114 Stambaugh Street. APNs: <br /> 053-233-270; 052-374-180; 052-374-100; 052-374-140; 053-131-050; 053-233- <br /> 230; 053-233-130; 053-233-120; 053-233-110; 053-233-100; 053-233-220; 053- <br /> 135-010; 053-135-140; 053-135-120; 053-135-260; 053-135-270; 053-135-160; <br /> 053-135-170; 053-136-010; 053-142-040; 053-142-080; 053-135-020; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Redwood City and the <br /> residents therein, that said properties are designated as Historic Landmarks and <br /> that the Main Street Historic District Expansion be adopted. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. The above recitals constitute findings of the City Council in <br /> this matter and are hereby incorporated into this resolution. <br /> Section 2. The City Council hereby finds that the designation of a historic <br /> district and historic landmarks is categorically exempt from the California <br /> Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15308, Class 8, of the <br /> CEQA Guidelines. <br /> Section 3. The City Council hereby finds that the proposed area of the <br /> Main Street Historic District Expansion contains improvements which have a <br /> special character, historic interest, and aesthetic value, and which represent <br /> several architectural periods and styles typical to the history of the City, and <br /> which improvements constitute a district section of the City according to the <br /> following historic designation criteria established by the Redwood City Historic <br /> Preservation Ordinance (Chapter 40 of the Redwood City Code): <br /> The area exemplifies and reflects special elements of the City's <br /> cultural, aesthetic or architectural history; and <br /> The area embodies distinctive characteristics of a style, type, <br /> period and method of construction, and is a valuable example of <br /> the use of indigenous materials or craftsmanship; and <br /> Section 4.
