09/12/2016 Advisory Committee, the recommendation of the Planning Commission, and the accompanying staff report; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the Main Street Historic District Expansion, the expanded historic district would consist of the following addresses and related assessor's parcel numbers (addresses and parcel numbers of contributing properties in bold): 1991, 2000, 2020, 2022-2024 Broadway; 726, 800, 831-835, 839, 847-849, 855-857, 863, 875, 901, 909-911, 917-921, 929, 935, 999, 1001, 1101 Main Street; 1204 Middlefield Road; and 114 Stambaugh Street. APNs: 053-233-270; 052-374-180; 052-374-100; 052-374-140; 053-131-050; 053-233- 230; 053-233-130; 053-233-120; 053-233-110; 053-233-100; 053-233-220; 053- 135-010; 053-135-140; 053-135-120; 053-135-260; 053-135-270; 053-135-160; 053-135-170; 053-136-010; 053-142-040; 053-142-080; 053-135-020; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Redwood City and the residents therein, that said properties are designated as Historic Landmarks and that the Main Street Historic District Expansion be adopted. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The above recitals constitute findings of the City Council in this matter and are hereby incorporated into this resolution. Section 2. The City Council hereby finds that the designation of a historic district and historic landmarks is categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15308, Class 8, of the CEQA Guidelines. Section 3. The City Council hereby finds that the proposed area of the Main Street Historic District Expansion contains improvements which have a special character, historic interest, and aesthetic value, and which represent several architectural periods and styles typical to the history of the City, and which improvements constitute a district section of the City according to the following historic designation criteria established by the Redwood City Historic Preservation Ordinance (Chapter 40 of the Redwood City Code): The area exemplifies and reflects special elements of the City's cultural, aesthetic or architectural history; and The area embodies distinctive characteristics of a style, type, period and method of construction, and is a valuable example of the use of indigenous materials or craftsmanship; and Section 4.
