06/12/2017 <br />Exhibit "B" <br />2017 July 4th Independence Day Celebration <br />Event Summarv, <br />The Peninsula Celebration Association (PCA) is requesting a special events permit to <br />conduct the 79th annual Independence Day Celebration in Redwood City on July 4, 2017. <br />The activities to be conducted by the PCA will be: <br />• The Invitational Parade starting at 10:00 am. <br />• The Arts & Crafts Festival from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. <br />The following activities will be conducted by other organizations: <br />• The annual Parade Run organized and coordinated by the Redwood City <br />Education Foundation (RCEF) will be held from 8:00 am to 9:00 am and utilize the <br />parade route. The Parade Run will also include a post race expo on Warren <br />between Marshall and Fuller. The expo will provide a "cool down" area for runners <br />and space for race sponsor information booths. The PCA will request portable <br />toilets be placed in parking spaces on Warren and Bradford for use by the runners. <br />RCEF will reimburse the PCA for the cost of the additional toilets. The PCA will <br />also request appropriate no parking signs and street closures barricades for the <br />post race expo. <br />As done in previous years, other groups conducting activities as part of the special events <br />permit will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that outlines the specific areas <br />of their responsibility and liabilities and include the PCA as an additional insured. <br />Event Details <br />The Invitational Parade <br />The annual Independence Day parade is produced for entertainment purposes and may <br />include decorated floats, marching bands, drill teams, vintage and/or municipal vehicles, <br />equestrian units, civic officials, invited guests, participating sponsors, and other entries <br />as approved by the PCA. As the parade organizers, the PCA may, at their discretion, <br />limit the types and number of entries participating in the parade. <br />• Parade Route: starting at Brewster and Winslow, proceeding on Winslow <br />to Marshall, turning left onto Marshall proceeding east to Main, turning right onto Main <br />proceeding to Middlefield, turning right onto Middlefield proceeding to Winslow, <br />proceeding on Winslow to Broadway, turning left on Broadway proceeding to Arguello, <br />proceeding on Arguello and terminating at Alden Street. <br />Parade Lineup Area: will include the following streets: <br />Arguello from Whipple Ave. to Brewster <br />Warren from Whipple Ave. to Brewster <br />Allerton from Whipple Ave. to Winslow <br />Winslow from Whipple Ave. to Brewster <br />Page 3 of 12 <br />ATTY/RESO.0050/CC RESO 4T" OF JULY STREET CLOSURES RESO.
