06/11/2018 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15671 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY DESIGNATING THE EVENT ROUTE AND APPROVING STREET <br />CLOSURES FOR THE FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION <br />WHEREAS, because of the impact that special events have on City streets and <br />traffic when a full or partial street closure is required for such a special event, the City <br />Council of the City of Redwood City finds that it is crucial that any such routes be <br />thoroughly reviewed and analyzed to enable careful planning of such special events in <br />order to minimize impacts to the general public where such street closures are permitted; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 21101(e) authorizes the City to <br />temporarily close a portion of any street for a local special event when the local authority <br />determines the closure is necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are to <br />use that portion of the street during the temporary closing; and <br />WHEREAS, after thorough review, analysis, and planning the City Council does <br />hereby establish the following route and necessary full and Partial Street closures for the <br />Fourth of July Celebration. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The Fourth of July Celebration Route is hereby established as shown by the <br />map attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and the list of affected streets as delineated in the <br />Event Summary and Event Plan, attached hereto as Exhibit "B", both incorporated herein <br />by this reference. <br />2. On July 3, 2018 and July 4, 2018, the affected streets will be temporarily <br />closed as delineated in Exhibit "B" <br />ATTY/RESO.0047/CC RESO DESIGNATING STREET CLOSURES FOR FOURTH OF JULY RESO.
