11/05/2018 <br />• Other injunctive relief to help ensure the health, safety or welfare of themselves <br />or their children. <br />• To seek medical attention for injuries caused by domestic violence, sexual <br />assault, or stalking. <br />• To obtain services from a domestic violence shelter, program, or rape crisis <br />center as a result of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking. <br />• To obtain psychological counseling related to an experience of domestic <br />violence, sexual assault, or stalking. <br />• To participate in safety planning and take other actions to increase safety from <br />future domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking, including temporary or <br />permanent relocation. <br />Unused sick leave may be accumulated to maximum sick leave credits of 1200 <br />hours. <br />In the event an employee has accumulated the maximum sick leave credits of <br />1200 hours and the employee becomes so severely ill that he exhausts his/her sick <br />leave, the City Manager may authorize additional sick leave to include any sick <br />leave in excess of the 1200 hours maximum which may have been lost due to the <br />maximum limitation; provided, however, that sick leave credits were not <br />accumulated for a period of six (6) months or longer. <br />An employee may elect to receive compensation in lieu of sick leave credits for <br />any calendar year (based on the first twenty-six (26) pay periods in the calendar <br />year) by requesting payment of unused sick leave in writing to the Director of <br />Finance no later than December 1 prior to the calendar year in which leave is <br />earned. Payment shall be made at fifty (50%) of the unused sick leave hours <br />accrued for that calendar year at the salary for the year the payment is being made <br />and shall be made after December 31. There shall be no payment in lieu of <br />accumulated sick leave benefits for years prior to such calendar year. <br />Accumulated sick leave credits shall be reduced by the value of the sick leave <br />compensated as provided in the above paragraph and the remaining balance shall <br />be accumulated to a maximum of 1200 hours. <br />If an employee terminates his/her employment, for reasons other than death, <br />retirement or discharge, compensation in lieu of unused sick leave shall be paid in <br />accordance with the terms provided for an employee who may elect to receive <br />compensation in lieu of sick leave credits, prorated to the date of termination of <br />service. <br />Employees who retire from City employment with benefits from PERS or who die <br />while in the employ of the City shall be eligible to receive fifty percent (50%) of <br />accrued unused sick leave.
