04/08/2019 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15748 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY DESIGNATING THE EVENT ROUTE AND APPROVING THE <br />TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURES FOR THE SEQUOIA HIGH <br />SCHOOL BOOSTER CLUB'S SEQUOIA STAMPEDE 5K RUN/WALK <br />FUNDRAISER <br />WHEREAS, because of the impact that special events have on City streets and <br />traffic when a full or partial street closure is required for such a special event, the City <br />Council of the City of Redwood City finds that it is crucial that any such routes be <br />thoroughly reviewed and analyzed to enable careful planning of such special events in <br />order to minimize impacts to the general public where such street closures are <br />permitted; and <br />WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 21101(e) authorizes the City to <br />temporarily close a portion of any street for a local special eventwhen the local authority <br />determines the closure is necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are <br />to use that portion of the street during the temporary closing; and <br />WHEREAS, after thorough review, analysis, and planning the City Council does <br />hereby establish the following necessary partial street closures for the Sequoia High <br />School Booster Club's 8th annual Sequoia Stampede 5K Run/Walk fundraiser. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The Sequoia High School Booster Club's 8th annual Sequoia Stampede <br />route is hereby established as shown by the map attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />2. On Saturday, April 20, 2019, Elwood Street, Katherine Avenue, Nevada <br />Street, Outer Circle, Brewster Avenue, Topaz Street, and James Avenue, will be subject <br />to temporary partial closures between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in order to allow the <br />Sequoia High School Booster Club's Sequoia Stampede event to occur. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />ATTY/DOCS-RESOLUTIONS/2019/RESO.0025 CC RESO SEQUOIA STAMPEDE FUNDRAISER RESO, NO. 15748 <br />REV: 03-28-19 MI MUFF N0. 604 <br />
