Perform related duties as assigned. <br />Principles, practices, and techniques of fire prevention, fire investigation, and public <br />education. <br />Fire suppression operations and practices. <br />Principles and practices of employee supervision, training and evaluation. <br />Department budget preparation and techniques. <br />Federal, State, and Local fire prevention and building standard codes and <br />ordinances. <br />Principles and techniques of building construction inspection work. <br />City and Fire Department policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. <br />Practices, procedures, and equipment used in fire investigations, including the <br />ability to recognize and collect evidence. <br />Procedures and techniques and equipment such as fire extinguishers, sprinkler <br />systems, and alarm systems. <br />Ability to: <br />Apply technical knowledge and follow proper inspection techniques and detect <br />deviations from plans, regulations and standard safety practices. <br />Plan, assign, coordinate and manage the functions and activities of assigned <br />areas. <br />Supervise, train, and develop employees effectively. <br />Coordinate activities of staff assigned including performance evaluations or <br />recommendations or actions to supervisor. <br />
