4/3/00 <br />notice in a conspicuous place on the property and in a prominent place on each <br />affected residential unit and either first class mail to each affected residential unit or in <br />person, (the "Relocation Notice "; Exhibit VI) depending on the urgency stated by the <br />Building Official. <br />2. The first contact will be to advise the tenants that abatement action or <br />Compliance Order is in progress, that they may be required to move either temporarily <br />or permanently from their current unit. <br />3. They are entitled to replacement housing assistance payments and moving <br />expense assistance under the City's Relocation Ordinance. <br />4. They will receive instructions with the notice or shortly thereafter on how to <br />apply for assistance. <br />5. They must complete the attached relocation needs assessment form and <br />return it to the Planning and Redevelopment Division within 10 working days. (Attach <br />supporting documents to the assessment form to verify income or bring it with them to <br />the Relocation Assessment Needs interview.) <br />B. RELOCATION NEEDS ASSESSMENT INTERVIEW WITH TENANTS <br />After receipt of the Relocation Needs Assessment Form the tenants will be <br />contacted for an Interview. At the time of the Interview the tenants shall provide the <br />following information: <br />1. Unit size, household income, preferred location of replacement unit, special <br />needs in relocating, i.e., need ground floor accessible units, transportation to look at <br />units, need moving van, or other accommodations. <br />2. Collect supporting documentation to calculate the replacement housing <br />payment, evidence of household income and verification, copies of utility bills to <br />determine average utility cost. <br />3. Method of moving (fixed payment or actual moving costs based on moving <br />company charges). <br />C. LOCATE COMPARABLE UNITS <br />1.
