The process to apply for the "actual" moving expense payment, <br />based on the actual costs you will incur from a bona fide moving company, is to request <br />a payment guarantee to the moving expense company, or to provide a copy of the <br />estimate and agreement from the moving company which will carry out the move. <br />PART VI <br />METHOD OF DISBURSEMENT AND RECAPTURE OF FUNDS <br />A. METHOD OF DISBURSEMENT <br />When the tenant has determined their choice of a fixed or actual expense, and a <br />comparable replacement unit has been located, the Planning & Redevelopment <br />Manager, or his designee, will calculate the total cost of the relocation. <br />1. ACCESS TO FUNDS <br />A request will be made to the Finance Department to set up a purchase <br />order in the amount of total relocation costs for the building address being abated, and <br />will advance funds from the City's unbudgeted reserve account. <br />Agency shall, upon determination of relocation costs, establish an escrow <br />account and make available from the City's unbudgeted reserve account, an amount <br />sufficient to carry out the relocation plan for each code enforcement abatement or <br />Compliance Order. Moving expense and relocation assistance payments shall be <br />made to each eligible household based on the methodology set forth in in Part VII <br />hereto, Definitions - Fixed Moving Expense Payment and Relocation Assistance <br />Payments Calculation. <br />2. MOVING EXPENSE PAYMENT <br />The moving expense payment (fixed) will be immediately paid to the <br />displaced tenant household to facilitate moving. For actual moving expenses, the <br />payment will be made directly to the moving company after the move and upon receipt <br />of documented evidence that such a move has occurred. <br />3.
