The process to apply for the "actual" moving expense payment, based on the actual costs you will incur from a bona fide moving company, is to request a payment guarantee to the moving expense company, or to provide a copy of the estimate and agreement from the moving company which will carry out the move. PART VI METHOD OF DISBURSEMENT AND RECAPTURE OF FUNDS A. METHOD OF DISBURSEMENT When the tenant has determined their choice of a fixed or actual expense, and a comparable replacement unit has been located, the Planning & Redevelopment Manager, or his designee, will calculate the total cost of the relocation. 1. ACCESS TO FUNDS A request will be made to the Finance Department to set up a purchase order in the amount of total relocation costs for the building address being abated, and will advance funds from the City's unbudgeted reserve account. Agency shall, upon determination of relocation costs, establish an escrow account and make available from the City's unbudgeted reserve account, an amount sufficient to carry out the relocation plan for each code enforcement abatement or Compliance Order. Moving expense and relocation assistance payments shall be made to each eligible household based on the methodology set forth in in Part VII hereto, Definitions - Fixed Moving Expense Payment and Relocation Assistance Payments Calculation. 2. MOVING EXPENSE PAYMENT The moving expense payment (fixed) will be immediately paid to the displaced tenant household to facilitate moving.
