ORIGINS L 10/23/00 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14079 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST REQUIRES THE <br />ESTABLISHMENT OF AN UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT <br />ENCOMPASSING THE AREA ON ROOSEVELT AVENUE FROM HUDSON <br />STREET TO VALOTA ROAD; DESIGNATING SAID DISTRICT AS <br />UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 2000 -1; PROVIDING A DESCRIPTION <br />OF SAID BOUNDARIES; AND STATING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR <br />HEARING OBJECTIONS TO THE FORMATION OF THE DISTRICT <br />WHEREAS, Article II of Chapter 11, (commencing with §11.30) of the Code of the City of <br />Redwood City provides a procedure for the establishment of underground utility districts within <br />portions of the City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Community Development Services Director have <br />recommended the establishment of the hereinafter described underground utility district; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has reviewed the recommendation and has determined that the <br />public interest and convenience require the establishment of said underground utility district; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City, under California Public utilities Commission Rule <br />20 -A, qualifies for reimbursement from utility corporations of a portion of the costs incurred by <br />the City for undergrounding overhead utilities in said district; <br />NOW,THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />1. This Council hereby finds and declares that the public interest and convenience <br />require the establishment of the hereinafter described underground utility district. <br />2.
