RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST REQUIRES THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT ENCOMPASSING THE AREA ON ROOSEVELT AVENUE FROM HUDSON STREET TO VALOTA ROAD; DESIGNATING SAID DISTRICT AS UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 2000 -1; PROVIDING A DESCRIPTION OF SAID BOUNDARIES; AND STATING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO THE FORMATION OF THE DISTRICT

3. The boundaries of the Proposed District are set forth in Exhibit "A" hereof, <br />entitled, "Underground Utility District No. 2000 -1 ", attached hereto and by this reference <br />incorporated herein. Said boundaries are shown on that certain map entitled `Boundary Map — <br />Underground Utility District No. 2000 -1," marked Exhibit "B ", attached hereto and by this <br />reference incorporated herein. <br />4. The purposes of the Proposed District are hereby declared to be as follows: the <br />placement underground of all existing overhead utilities, including service drops (except for <br />certain high power transmission lines from St. Francis Street to Valota Road) removal of all <br />wood utility poles, overhead wires, and associated structures from any streets, roads, alleys or <br />way within the Proposed District, and the requirement that all future wires and facilities for <br />supplying electric, communication, and /or similar services shall be installed underground. <br />5. It shall be unlawful for any person, including utility companies, to erect, maintain <br />or operate any pole, overhead wire or associated structure in any portion of any street, road, <br />alley or way within the Proposed District, with the exception of high power transmission lines <br />from St. Francis Street to Valota Road. <br />6. Monday, December 11, 2000, at 7:00 P.M. in the Redwood City Council <br />Chambers located in City Hall — 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, California, is stated to <br />be the time and place for hearing objections by persons interested in the Proposed District. At <br />said hearing the Council may make changes in the Proposed District boundaries or the facilities <br />to be placed underground, in accordance with Article II of chapter 11 of the code of the City of <br />Redwood City. <br />7.
