WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redwood City adopted a Strategy to Address <br />Floodina and directed the Mayor to initiate dialog with neighboring jurisdictions, state and <br />federal agencies, and the City congressional and legislative delegations to further efforts to <br />reduce flooding. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />The City Council of Redwood City supports the notion of reclaiming Cargill Salt lands <br />adjacent to Redwood City to improve the ecological health of the San Francisco Bay and asks <br />both the State and Federal Governments to consider and incorporate into their negotiations <br />with Cargill the public interest by allowing the use of a portion of the Cargill lands to provide for <br />protection against flooding for the adjacent residences and businesses. <br />Reso -968 <br />2 <br />14100 <br />
