CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />BUILDING INSPECTOR <br />Use safe work practices. <br />EXHIBIT A <br />Establish, maintain and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with <br />those contacted in the course of work. <br />Work effectively within a team setting and contribute toward the team's overall <br />success. <br />Buildina Inspector II: <br />In addition to Building Inspector I abilities: <br />Read, understand and interpret construction blueprints, plans and specifications. <br />Inspect and analyze standard building construction and identify code violations. <br />Skill to: <br />Operate a motor vehicle safely. <br />Effectively organize schedules, files, projects, inspections, and technical data. <br />Proficiently operate personal computer and building permit computer systems. <br />Experience and Trainina Guidelines: <br />Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the <br />required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain <br />the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be: <br />Experience: <br />Inspector I <br />Three years of experience in the building construction field as a journey level plumber, <br />electrician, carpenter or related craftsperson. <br />Inspector II <br />Three years of inspection and enforcement experience for residential and nonresidential <br />buildings including the evaluation of structural, plumbing, electrical, & mechanical <br />installations. <br />4 <br />14119 <br />
