3/12/01 <br />0 R I C I 14 A L <br />RESOLUTION N0. 14165 <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING AND SUPPORTING "OUTCOMES" <br />FOR THE HEALTH AND WELL -BEING OF CHILDREN <br />DESCRIBED IN JANUARY 2000 REPORT OF SAN MATEO <br />COUNTY CHILDREN'S EXECUTIVE COUNCIL ACTION TEAM <br />WHEREAS, Redwood City 2020 is a collaborative effort sponsored by <br />the City of Redwood City, Redwood City School District, and the Sequoia Union <br />High School District; and <br />WHEREAS, a major goal of Redwood City 2020 is the pursuit of <br />measures enhancing youth development and education in our community; and <br />WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Children's Executive Council <br />requested the Children's Executive Council Action Team ( "Action Team ") to <br />identify "Outcomes" and "Indicators" for the health and well -being of children; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Action Team has prepared, and the Children's Executive <br />Council has published, a report entitled, "Children in Our Community: A Report <br />on Their Health and Well- being ", dated January 2000 (the "Report"); and <br />WHEREAS, the Outcomes identified in the Report are intended to serve <br />as goals for formulation of private sector and governmental policies for the <br />betterment of children in our community; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to adopt and support the Outcomes <br />specified in the Report; <br />Reso -1097 <br />DES:djk <br />R /Shared /Redwood /Council <br />03/06/01 <br />
