5/7/01 <br />OP,I GI14AL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14216 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY REQUESTING THE SAN MATEO COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL <br />DISTRICT TO IMPOSE SUPPLEMENTAL CHARGES FOR FUNDING <br />EXPANDED SCOPE OF THE FISCAL YEAR 2001/2002 <br />COUNTYWIDE STORM WATER NATIONAL POLLUTANT <br />DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM ( "NPDES ") GENERAL <br />PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, pursuant to <br />the 1987 amendments to the Federal Clean Water Act (33 USC §1251 et seq.), <br />enacted regulations implementing the storm water National Pollutant Elimination <br />System ( "NPDES ") requirements for local governments to control and reduce the <br />amount of storm water pollutant runoff into receiving waters; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Porter - Cologne Water Quality Act <br />(Water Code §13000, et seq.), the State Water Resources Control Board has <br />delegated its permitting authority to Regional Water Quality Control Boards; and <br />WHEREAS, San Mateo County, in conjunction with all incorporated cities in <br />the County, prepared a San Mateo Countywide Stormwater Management Plan <br />which includes a General Program; and <br />WHEREAS, the San Mateo Countywide Stormwater Management Plan for <br />1998 through 2003 has been approved by the San Francisco Regional Water <br />Quality Control Board and made part of renewed NPDES Waste Discharge Permit <br />CA 0029921, effective July 21, 1999; and <br />Reso -1144A I <br />DES:djk <br />Shared/Redwood/Council <br />05/01/01 <br />
