08/27/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14346 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT WITH CENTER FOR THE INDEPENDENCE OF THE <br />DISABLED <br />WHEREAS, Center for the Independence of the Disabled is a private, non- <br />profit organization that provides a variety of services to increase the social, <br />educational and economic participation of persons with disabilities, encouraging, <br />supporting, and providing options for self- determination, equal access, and freedom <br />of choice, which services are in furtherance of the public health, welfare and benefit; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Center for the Independence of the Disabled has requested <br />financial assistance for use by it in conducting its activities during the fiscal year <br />commencing July 1, 2001 and ending June 30, 2002; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has reviewed said request and desires <br />to enter into an agreement with Center for the Independence of the Disabled to <br />provide financial assistance in furtherance of its public purposes; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />That certain agreement by and between the City of Redwood City and Center <br />for the Independence of the Disabled , a copy of which agreement is on file in the <br />office of the City Clerk, to which copy reference is hereby made for the full particulars <br />Reso -0108 <br />F:/Shared/Redwood/Council <br />FXS -dr <br />08/02/01 <br />
