08/27/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT WITH EL CENTRO DE LIBERTAD — FREEDOM <br />CENTER <br />WHEREAS, El Centro de Libertad — Freedom Center is a private, non - profit <br />organization that provides substance abuse treatment services that foster recovery <br />through dignity for low and middle income individuals, which services are in <br />furtherance of the public health, welfare and benefit; and <br />WHEREAS, El Centro de Libertad — Freedom Center has requested financial <br />assistance for use by it in conducting its activities during the fiscal year commencing <br />July 1, 2001 and ending June 30, 2002; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has reviewed said request and desires <br />to enter into an agreement with El Centro de Libertad — Freedom Center to provide <br />financial assistance in furtherance of its public purposes; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />That certain agreement by and between the City of Redwood City and El <br />Centro de Libertad — Freedom Center, a copy of which agreement is on file in the <br />office of the City Clerk, to which copy reference is hereby made for the full particulars <br />thereof, is hereby approved and the City Manager and City Clerk are hereby <br />authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br />Reso -0110 <br />F: /S ha red /Redwood /Co u nci I <br />FXS -dr <br />08/02/01 <br />
