Principles and practices of supervision and training. <br />Department policies, procedures, organization and operating details. <br />Principles and procedures of record keeping. <br />Basic mathematical principles. <br />Abilitv to: <br />Operate computerized library system databases; perform complex system <br />searches. <br />Work independently. <br />Type at a speed necessary for successful job performance. <br />Supervise, train and evaluate assigned staff. <br />Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. <br />Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted <br />in the course of work. <br />Phvsical Characteristics <br />Must be in sufficiently good health to perform job duties. <br />Experience and Trainina Guidelines: <br />Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the <br />required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the <br />knowledge and abilities would be: <br />Experience: <br />Two years of experience comparable to that of a journey level library <br />assistant. <br />Trainina: <br />Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by <br />clerical and specialized college courses in library science or a related <br />field <br />3 <br />14401 <br />
