07/15/02 kE §0i&I6I4NO L 44se RESOLUTION AMENDING CITY OF REDWOOD CITY URBAN WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN WHEREAS, the State of California's 1984 Urban Water Management Planning Act ( "The Act ") requires every urban water supplier providing water for municipal purposes to more than 3,000 customers, or supplying more than 3,000 acre feet of water annually, to prepare and adopt an Urban Water Management Plan; and WHEREAS, Redwood City owns and operates a water utility that serves over 83,000 customers, supplying 13,278 acre feet of water annually; and WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City prepared its Urban Water Management Plan in 1986 and said plan has been amended in 1992 and January 2002; and WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City desires to amend its Urban Water Management Plan to meet the requirements of the California Urban Water Management Planning Code; and WHEREAS, said amendment must be adopted after public review and hearing and filed with the California Department of Water Resources; and WHEREAS, the City Council has been presented with an amendment which conforms water use projections to the recently completed Redwood City Water Use Forecast, and said Forecast was accepted by the City Council on or about July 1, 2002; and WHEREAS, said amendment also conforms to the Urban Water Management Plan to the City of Redwood City's draft General Plan Housing Element update, pending draft Downtown Plan Environmental Impact Report and proposed developments west of Highway 101; and WHEREAS, public review and hearing of the amendment to the Urban Water Management Plan occurred on July 15, 2002. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: 1. That certain Amended Urban Water Management Plan, a copy of which is on file in the offices of the Public Works Services Department to which copy reference is hereby made for the full particulars thereof, is hereby approved and adopted.
