1/12/2004 ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 14568 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE PER CAPITA GRANT PROGRAM UNDER THE CALIFORNIA CLEAN WATER, CLEAN AIR, SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS, AND COASTAL PROTECTION ACT OF 2002 WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the California Clean Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks and Coastal Protection Act of 2002 which provides funds for the Per Capita Grant Program which assists in the acquisition and development of neighborhood, community, and regional parks and recreation lands and facilities (the "Grant Program "); and WHEREAS, the California Department of Parks and Recreation (the "Department") has been delegated with the responsibility of administrating the Grant Program within the State; and WHEREAS, the Grant Program procedures established by the Department require the governing body of a Grant Program applicant to certify, by resolution, the approval of the filing of an application for the Grant Program allocation; and WHEREAS, if awarded a Grant Program allocation, The City will enter into a contract with the State of California for a specific project that is to be funded by the grant; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redwood City desires to participate in the Grant Program and apply for a Grant Program allocation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the filing of an application for local assistance funds from the Per Capita Grant Program under the California Clean Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks and Coastal Protection Act of 2002 is hereby approved. 2.
