06/07/2004
Mitigation: The Project shall obtain an acoustical study for its multifamily
residential component, and shall install noise insulation features and other elements
approved by the City which will reduce interior noise to or below state and City
standards (Mitigation 13 -1).
Findings: Mitigation 13 -1 is feasible, and noise exposures at or below the
permitted levels would be below the level of environmental significance.
B. Construction - Induced Vibration
Potential Impact: Project pile- driving could cause ground -borne vibration
that would damage nearby structures or interfere with daily activities (Impact 13 -2).
Mitigation: The Project shall conduct vibration - generating construction
activity only between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, notify (in writing)
occupants of land uses within 200 feet of the schedule for pile- driving activities, and pre-
drill pile holes or use other techniques of equivalent effect (Mitigation 13 -2).
Findings: Mitigation 13 -2 is feasible and would reduce the effects of
vibration on nearby structures and sensitive receptors to a level of insignificance.
C. Construction Noise
Potential Impact: Project demolition and construction would temporarily
increase noise levels for residences near the Project and for previously completed
Project residences that could intermittently interfere with residential activities and could
exceed City standards (Impact 13 -3).
Mitigation: The Project shall incorporate in project demolition and
construction activities the construction period noise abatement measures set forth in
Mitigation 13 -3.
Findings: Mitigation 13 -3 is feasible and would substantially reduce most
of the potentially significant construction noise impacts. However, the impact would
remain significant and unavoidable. There is no other feasible mitigation measure
available to avoid or substantially reduce the noise impacts described above. The
remaining impact could be eliminated only by not proceeding with large parts of the
Project, which is infeasible and would prevent the environmental, economic, social and
other benefits of the Project more fully described above.
XI. CULTURAL AND HISTORIC RESOURCES
Potential Impact: Implementation of the proposed grading plan for the
Project could disturb sensitive, on -site, subsurface cultural resources which are not
identifiable at the current stage of development (Impact 14 -1).
1289 \02 \179278.2 33
Atty /Reso /Reso.1470 14590
060804 Muff # 304 Bin 26
