CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />TREE MAINTENANCE WORKER 1 -II (Continued) <br />Experience: <br />One year of work experience involving tree maintenance work <br />including some tree trimming and some climbing experience. <br />Education: <br />Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by <br />specialized training in tree care work. <br />License or Certificate: <br />Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California Driver's <br />license. <br />ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS <br />In addition to the qualifications for Tree Maintenance Worker I, the II level class <br />requires proficiency in the following: <br />Knowledge of: <br />Tree diseases and pests and proper methods for their eradication. <br />Ability to: <br />Perform unskilled and semi - skilled tree maintenance work. <br />Work safely and effectively in trees of all sizes. <br />Check and recognize defects in tree climbing and trimming equipment. <br />Assist in the supervision and training of less experienced personnel. <br />Experience and Education: <br />Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the <br />required knowledge and abilities are qualifying. A typical way to obtain the <br />knowledge and abilities would be: <br />Experience: <br />Three years of work experience involving tree maintenance work and <br />high climbing comparable to that of Tree Maintenance Worker I in the <br />City of Redwood City. <br />
