08/05/2004 <br />consolidated upon the order of the Board of Supervisors of the County in which the <br />consolidation is to be effected; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires that the San Mateo County Board of <br />Supervisors order consolidation of said state -wide general election with the Special <br />Municipal Election of the City of Redwood City, all to be held on Tuesday, November 2, <br />2004; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo has established a Presidential General <br />Election Calendar for November 2, 2004, which sets forth the last day upon which <br />primary arguments and rebuttal arguments in favor of or against local ballot measures <br />may be filed, and the last day upon which an impartial analysis regarding local ballot <br />measures must be filed. <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to California Election Code 9243, elections involving <br />referendums shall be held in accordance with Section 9217 to 9225, and section 9219 <br />and 9220 authorizes the city council to submit a primary and rebuttal argument in favor <br />of the ordinance and it is the desire of the city council to have the Mayor assign such <br />persons to be the authors thereof, and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />Pursuant to the laws of the State of California relating to municipal referenda, <br />the City Council of the City of Redwood City has reconsidered Ordinance No. <br />1130 -332, and hereby calls and orders held a special municipal election to be <br />held in the City of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, State of California, on <br />Tuesday, November 2, 2004, for the purpose of placing on the ballot the <br />following referendum: <br />Referendum Measure Shall Ordinance No. 1130 -332, which was <br />unanimously passed by the City Council, and that rezones property located at <br />Peninsula Marina, Pete's Harbor, and adjacent roadway parcels, to a Planned <br />Community District to allow a combination of uses including residential, <br />commercial, marinas, parks and open space, be adopted? <br />A full and complete copy of the ordinance is attached hereto as Exhibit A and <br />incorporated herein by reference. <br />2. Said election shall, in all particulars not recited in this Resolution, be <br />conducted as provided by law for the holding of municipal elections in the City <br />of Redwood City. <br />Atty /Reso /Reso.1480 14599 <br />080204 2 Muff # 307 <br />
