11/28/2005 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14676 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, RECITING THE FACTS OF THE CONSOLIDATED <br />SPECIAL AND GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON <br />NOVEMBER 8, 2005 DECLARING THE RESULTS AND SUCH <br />OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW <br />WHEREAS, a Consolidated Special and General Municipal Election was <br />held and conducted in the City of Redwood City, California, on Tuesday, <br />November 8, 2005, as required by law; and <br />WHEREAS, notice of the election was given in time, form and manner as <br />provided by law; that voting precincts were properly established; that election <br />officers were appointed and that in all respects the election was held and <br />conducted and the votes were cast, received and canvassed and the returns <br />made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the <br />Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of elections in general <br />law and charter cities; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 14654, adopted June 27, 2005, <br />the County Election Department has tallied the votes with respect to the election, <br />has published the Semi - Official Election Results which have been received and <br />are attached and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A" and will report said results to <br />the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors on or about November 29, 2005; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, on or after November 29, 2005, the County Election <br />Department will report to the City Clerk of Redwood City that it has canvassed <br />the returns of the election and has certified results to this City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, at this time there appears no reasonable basis to believe that <br />on or after November 29, 2005, the returns of this election will deviate in any <br />significant or substantial factual or numerical manner from the results as shown <br />in Exhibit A. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. That the names of persons voted for at the general election <br />for Member of the City Council are as follows: Diane Howard, Jim Hartnett, Jeff <br />Ira, Adrian Brandt, and Hilary S. Paulson. That the name of the person voted for <br />Atty /Reso.1575 14676 <br />112305 1 Muff # 307 <br />
