<br />1/23/2006 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14689 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY APPROVING REVISED M EMORAN DU M OF <br />UNDERSTANDING (MOU) PROVIDING FOR THE CONTINUING <br />OPERATION OF THE SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL <br />AIRPORT/COMMUNITY ROUNDTABLE AND SUPERCEDING <br />AND RESCINDING PRIOR MOU AND ALL AMENDMENTS <br />THERETO <br /> <br />WHEREAS, In May 1981, the County of San Mateo, the County Airport land Use <br /> <br />Committee AlUC), and the governing bodies of 11 cities/towns located in San Mateo <br /> <br />County near the Airport entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the <br /> <br />City and County of San Francisco to create a public body known as the San Francisco <br /> <br />International Airport/Community Roundtable (Roundtable); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, effective October 1992, the original MOU was amended for the first <br /> <br />time, in response to the Airport commission's adoption and implementation of a San <br /> <br />Francisco International Airport Master Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, effective June 1997, the 1981 MOU was amended a second time, to <br /> <br />allow more cities and towns in San Mateo County to join the Roundtable, including <br /> <br />Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting on April 6, 2005, the Roundtable unanimously <br /> <br />approved proposed revisions to the existing MOU which would supercede and rescind <br /> <br />the existing MOU and all prior amendments, and provide for its distribution to the <br /> <br />individual Roundtable members for a review and approval, and which will make minor <br /> <br />language changes with the intent of calling for the continuing operations of the <br /> <br />Roundtable by: (1) retaining the original spirit and focus of the Roundtable; (2) clearly <br /> <br />Atty/Reso/Reso.1587 <br />010606 <br /> <br />14689 <br />Muff# 304 <br />
