Create space specialized to accommodate advanced medical services and <br />equipment that require more space than is possible within the existing <br />buildings. <br /> <br />D. Provide a medical office building adjacent to the hospital, outpatient <br />surgery and outpatient imaging services and a parking garage to meet the <br />needs of patients and physicians. <br /> <br />E. Design the hospital campus to be compatible with the adjacent <br />neighborhood. <br /> <br />The City of Redwood City has the following objectives for the Sequoia Hospital Precise <br />Plan to appropriately shape the urban design of the proposed rebuilding program. <br /> <br />For Plannin~ Area A: <br /> <br />A. Enable the RebuildinQ of Sequoia Hospital so as to be Compatible with the <br />ExistinQ Hillside Residential NeiQhborhoods. The site planning of the <br />hospital campus shall be sensitive and attractive in site planning, <br />architectural and landscape design to moderate the land use adjacency <br />impacts to the surrounding hillside single-family residential neighborhood <br />and adjacent neighborhood park. <br /> <br />B. Ensure Ease of Site Access. Circulation. and ParkinQ. The site planning of <br />the hospital campus shall have a direct and visible project entry and <br />access to public parking from Whipple Avenue. Direct pedestrian <br />connections shall be provided between new and existing buildings and <br />from Whipple Avenue, Dove Beeger Park, and Alameda de las Pulgas, <br />including pedestrian access from the bus stop on Alameda de las Pulgas. <br /> <br />C. Ensure Attractive Public Street FrontaQes. The site planning of the <br />hospital campus shall provide attractive street frontages along Whipple <br />Avenue and Alameda de las Pulgas that contribute and enhance the <br />identity of the local area, preserve the existing trees and provide <br />appropriate visual screening, buffering and transitions from the street to <br />campus buildings. <br /> <br />D. Create a Coherent. Unified Campus. The site planning of the hospital <br />campus shall arrange the buildings and open spaces in a comprehensive <br />manner, to create a highly functional and aesthetically attractive campus <br />environment. <br /> <br />E. Create a Compassionate HealinQ Environment.
