<br />01/28/2008 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14836 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS <br />FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED FUND BALANCE WITHIN <br />THE GENERAL FUND RESERVES AND APPROPRIATED TO <br />STRATEGIC PLANNING PROFESSIONAL SERVICES <br />ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,467,665 FOR <br />PREPARATION OF THE NEW REDWOOD CITY GENERAL <br />PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City staff has recommended that the City of Redwood City <br />needs and deserves a "New" General Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Strategic Planning staff traditionally provide project <br />management associated with General Plan work, however, the prospect of a <br />New General Plan should be considered a City-wide endeavor; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff is recommending that the City hire a General Plan <br />consultant team to prepare both the New General Plan and the required <br />Environmental Impact Report and technical studies; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff has conducted a comprehensive request for proposal for <br />both the New General Plan and Environmental Impact Report, and has identified <br />and recommends a consultant team to be led by Hogle-Ireland Inc; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the consultant's budget for the new General Plan and <br />Environmental Impact Report and technical studies is of the sum of $1,276,230; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff is recommending that a 15% contingency fund in the <br />amount of $191 ,435 be made available for unforeseen planning needs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the total budgeted amount including a contingency fund for <br />completion of a New General Plan and Environmental Impact Report is <br />$1,467,665. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1.
