<br />01/28/2008 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14837 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />AMENDING THE STRATEGIC GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY LAND USE MAP TO CHANGE THE GENERAL PLAN LAND USE <br />DESIGNATION OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE PRESERVE AT <br />REDWOOD SHORES PRECISE PLAN AREA FROM LOW AND MEDIUM <br />DENSITY RESIDENTIAL, COMMERCIAL/OFFICE, OPEN SPACE, AND <br />URBAN RESERVE TO MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL, SCHOOLS, <br />PUBLIC AND QUASI PUBLIC, AND OPEN SPACE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after a duly noticed public hearing on December 18, 2007, the Planning <br />Commission of the City of Redwood City (the "Commission") recommended to the City Council <br />of the City of Redwood City (the "City Council") an amendment of the Strategic General Plan of <br />the City of Redwood City (the "General Plan") to change the land use designations of the <br />property located within the Preserve at Redwood Shores Precise Plan from "low and medium <br />density residential, commercial/office, open space, and urban reserve" to "medium density <br />residential, schools, public and quasi public, and open space." <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this City Council having reviewed the recommendation of the Commission, <br />and having considered the evidence received at the public hearing on January 28, 2008, duly <br />noticed and held for said proposed amendments, finds that the proposed amendments are in <br />the public interest and consistent with the purposes of the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance and <br />desires to amend the General Plan in the manner proposed and referenced above. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct and are hereby incorporated herein by <br />this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. <br /> <br />2. That the General Plan is hereby amended to change the general plan land use <br />designation of the real property (Assessor's Parcel Numbers 095-460-180) located within the <br />Preserve at Redwood Shores Precise Plan Area from "low and medium density residential, <br />commercial/office, open space, and urban reserve" to "medium density residential, schools, <br />public and quasi public, and open space," as shown as shown on the maps entitled "Existing <br />General Plan" and "Proposed General Plan" that are attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and <br />incorporated herein. <br /> <br />3.
