REVISED DELINQUENT UTILITY SERVICE CHARGE SCHEDULE FOR THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND PROVIDING FOR COLLECTION OF $100.00 DEPOSIT TO OPEN NEW UTILITY SERVICE ACCOUNTS, SENDING REMINDER NOTICES TO UTILITY SERVICE CUSTOMERS DELINQUENT IN PAYMENT OF UTILITY BILLS, AND TERMINATING SERVICE WHEN UTILITY CUSTOMERS ARE DELINQUENT IN PAYMENT OF UTILITY BILLS AFTER FORTY-SEVEN (47) CALENDAR DAYS

<br />02/11/2008 <br /> <br />a. Utility service customers who are delinquent in payment of utility <br />bills after thirty (30) calendar days from mailing of the initial <br />utility bill shall be mailed a first reminder notice. <br />i. Said notice shall be mailed to the utility bill customer a <br />minimum of thirty-one (31) calendar days from the date of <br />the mailing of the initial utility bill. <br /> <br />II. Said notice shall state that the invoiced amount is to be paid <br />within ten (10) calendar days of the mailing of this first <br />reminder notice. <br /> <br />b. Utility service customers who fail to pay the delinquent utility bill <br />within the time established by the first reminder notice shall be <br />mailed a second reminder notice. <br /> <br />i. Said second reminder notice shall be mailed to the utility bill <br />customer a minimum of ten (10) calendar days from the date <br />of mailing of the first reminder notice. <br /> <br />II. Said second reminder notice shall state that the invoiced <br />amount is to be paid within seven (7) calendar days of the <br />date of this second reminder notice. <br /> <br />III. Said second reminder notice shall state that the failure to <br />pay the invoiced amount within the seven (7) calendar day <br />period set forth in 2.b.ii., above, will result in termination of <br />utility services. The foregoing termination of service may be <br />waived by the Director if the facts relating to a particular <br />situation demonstrate a justifiable reason for the failure to <br />make a timely payment. <br /> <br />3. The Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to implement <br />and enforce the collection of the charges approved and established <br />hereby; provided that nothing herein contained shall be deemed to limit <br />the authority of the Director of Finance to enforce the collection of unpaid <br />delinquent fees and charges by judicial proceedings. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />ATTY/RESO/RESO.1782 <br />012808 <br /> <br />14840 <br />MUFF 805 <br />
