RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE OF LIBRARY FURNITURE FROM PURCHASING AGENCIES AND FROM SINGLE SOURCES ONLY AS SPECIFIED FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL ITEM IN THE FURNITURE PLAN SPECIFICATIONS FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $500, 000 AND SUSPENDING THE REQUIREMENTS OF ARTICLE VII, PURCHASING, OF CHAPTER 2 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THIS PURCHASE

<br />serve the public interest because the library furnishings that are purchased through purchasing <br />agencies have been competitively solicited by a lead public jurisdiction in accordance with their <br />purchasing rules and regulations. <br /> <br />4. Strict compliance with Article II, Chapter 2 of the Redwood City code would not <br />serve the public interest because some of the library furnishings that are suitable are of such a <br />unique nature and exclusive design that they are available from a single source only, as <br />identified for each individual item in the furniture plan specifications. <br /> <br />5. The sole source purchase of library furniture from purchasing agencies and from <br />the identified single sources for each individual furniture item in the furniture plan specifications <br />for an amount not to exceed $500,000 is approved <br /> <br />6.
