<br />03/24/2008 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14851 <br /> <br />ADOPT A RESOLUTION FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF $50,000 <br />GRANT FROM THE MORRIS STULSAFT FOUNDATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, adopt by resolution the acceptance of the Morris Stulsaft <br />Foundation grant in support of the replacement of the lower restroom facilities in <br />Stulsaft Park; and <br />WHEREAS, Lower Stulsaft Park is the site for the Department's annual <br />spring and summer Day Camp Programs, which have been operating since <br />1960; and <br />WHEREAS, the updated restrooms will serve Day camp children as well <br />as the many others who use the park for exercise or simply communing with <br />nature on a regular basis; and <br />WHEREAS, the foundation also made a significant contribution to the <br />renovation of the upper Stulsaft Park Playground completed in March of 2001; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Stulsaft donated the 38 acres now known as Stulsaft Park <br />to the City in 1951; and <br />WHEREAS, the grant fund must be used in Stulsaft Park and will free up <br />Capital Improvement Program funds for other worthy projects. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />RESOLVED, that City of Redwood City authorizes the acceptance of the <br />grant in support of the replacement of the lower restroom facilities in Stulsaft <br />Park. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />ATTY/RESO/RESO.1799 <br />030308 <br /> <br />14851 <br />MUFF # 505 <br />
