1 0/27/2008 ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 14903 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE TERMS OF THE GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES AND THE BAY AREA CLEAN WATER AGENCIES FOR PROPOSITION 50 CHAPTER 8 GRANT FUNDING AND AMENDING THE 2008-09 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM BUDGET TO REFLECT GRANT FUNDING FOR THE RECYCLED WATER PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF $972,800 WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City ("City") has been an Affiliate Member of Bay Area Clean Water Agencies (BACWA) since April 18, 2005; and WHEREAS, in June 2006, the City, in partnership with other Bay Area water agencies submitted a consolidated Step 2 grant application to the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) and State Water Resources Control Board to obtain an Integrated Regional Water Management Implementation Grant pursuant to the Water Security, Clean Drinking Water, Coastal and Beach Protection Act of 2002 (California Water Code Section 79560 et seq.), for the Redwood City Recycled Water project; and WHEREAS, BACWA was the grant applicant on behalf of the participating water agencies and would be the contracting entity to execute and administer the grant agreement with DWR; and WHEREAS, on April 9, 2007, BACWA received notice of a conditional grant award from DWR; and WHEREAS, the participating Bay Area water agencies, which are considered local project sponsors under the grant agreement, must provide notice to DWR that individual agencies receiving grants are aware of and intend to comply with the terms of the DWR grant agreement; and WHEREAS, the DWR grant will contribute $972,800 to the City's Recycled Water Project, Bid Package 7; and WHEREAS, on July 21, 2008, the City Council approved its Fiscal Year 2008-09 budget; and A TTY/RESO/RESO.1864 102108 # 14903 Formerly Muff # 505
