. 12/08/2008 ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 14912 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RECITING THE FACTS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION CONSOLIDATED WITH THE GENERAL PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 4, 2008 DECLARING THE RESULTS AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW WHEREAS, a Special Consolidated General Presidential Election was held and conducted in the City of Redwood City, California, on Tuesday, November 4, 2008; and WHEREAS, notice of the election was given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were appointed and that in all respects the election was held and conducted and the votes were cast, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of special elections in general law and charter cities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolutions No. 14882 and No. 14883 adopted August 4, 2008, the County Election Department has tallied the votes with respect to the election, has published the Statement of the Vote which have been received and are attached and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, on December 2, 2008, the County Election Department reported to the City Clerk of Redwood City that it has canvassed the returns of the election and has certified results to this City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the measures voted upon at the election are as follows: Measure "V" and Measure "W" did not pass SECTION 2. That the number of votes given in the City to each of the measures was not sufficient for passing. SECTION 3.
