<br />... <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />DES:yc:5/1/81 <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N o. 8 8 Ll 0 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />MAY 4 1981 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION FINDING AND DETERMINING VALUE OF WRITTEN <br />PROTESTS AND TERMINATING PROCEEDINGS FOR PROPOSED <br />"ANNEXATION OF KENSINGTON SQUARE TO THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY (13 :':: ACRES)" <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 8794, adopted February 23, <br /> <br />1981, this Council commenced proceedings for the annexation of <br /> <br />certain inhabited territory to the City of Redwood City designated <br /> <br />as "Annexation of Kensington Square to the City of Redwood City <br />(13 ~ Acres)~; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a public hearing on the proposed annexation was held <br /> <br />on April 6, 1981, and continued to April 13, 1981, on which latter <br /> <br />date said hearing was closed; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, written protests against the proposed annexation were <br /> <br />filed by registered voters within the inhabited territory proposed <br /> <br />to be annexed and by owners of land within said territory, and <br /> <br />this Council did hear and receive oral objections and evidence <br /> <br />presented at the hearing; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, upon the conclusion of the hearing, this Council has <br /> <br />determined the value of written protests filed and not withdrawn <br /> <br />as hereinafter set forth, and has further determined that the value <br /> <br />of the written protests of registered voters requires the termination <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />of proceedings; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. This Council hereby finds and determines that: <br /> <br />(a) The value of written protests filed and not withdrawn <br />by the owners of land who own property within the <br />above described territory exceeds 25 percent but is <br />less than 50 percent of the total assessed value of <br />land within the territory; <br /> <br />(b) The value of written protests filed and not withdrawn <br />by registered voters within the above described <br />territory exceeds 50 percent of the registered voters <br />within said territory. <br /> <br />8840 <br />
