... o o DES:yc:5/1/81 , RES 0 L UTI 0 N N o. 8 8 Ll 0 ORIGINAL MAY 4 1981 RESOLUTION FINDING AND DETERMINING VALUE OF WRITTEN PROTESTS AND TERMINATING PROCEEDINGS FOR PROPOSED "ANNEXATION OF KENSINGTON SQUARE TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY (13 :':: ACRES)" WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 8794, adopted February 23, 1981, this Council commenced proceedings for the annexation of certain inhabited territory to the City of Redwood City designated as "Annexation of Kensington Square to the City of Redwood City (13 ~ Acres)~; and WHEREAS, a public hearing on the proposed annexation was held on April 6, 1981, and continued to April 13, 1981, on which latter date said hearing was closed; and WHEREAS, written protests against the proposed annexation were filed by registered voters within the inhabited territory proposed to be annexed and by owners of land within said territory, and this Council did hear and receive oral objections and evidence presented at the hearing; and WHEREAS, upon the conclusion of the hearing, this Council has determined the value of written protests filed and not withdrawn as hereinafter set forth, and has further determined that the value of the written protests of registered voters requires the termination - of proceedings; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: 1. This Council hereby finds and determines that: (a) The value of written protests filed and not withdrawn by the owners of land who own property within the above described territory exceeds 25 percent but is less than 50 percent of the total assessed value of land within the territory; (b) The value of written protests filed and not withdrawn by registered voters within the above described territory exceeds 50 percent of the registered voters within said territory. 8840
