/"....
"-/

/.......

",,,)

HISTORIC PRESERVATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Planning Commission
City of Redwood City

Dear Chairperson:

The Historic Preservation Advisory Committee has formulated its first list
of historic landmark designation recommendations for Planning Commission
consideration. Our committee has five initial recommendations. They are
by their historic names: lthe Bank of San Mateo County/Fitzpatrick Building
at 2000-12 Broadway; the Hilton and Titus Blacksmith Shop at 822-26 Main
Street;}the pld Courthouse at 2200 Broadway;:Diller's Store at 726 Main
Street; and~ire Station No.1 at 1044 Middlefield Road. Attached for
your information is a brief history of each landmark recommendation. All
of our recommendations are listed in the Planning Department's Historic
Resources Inventory. The Bank of-San Mateo County/Fitzpatrick Building
and Diller's Store are also listed in the National Register of Historic
Places.

This list is only the beginning as more historic landmark and also historic
district recommendations will be forthcoming. It should be emphasized that
these initial recommendations may not necessarily have more historical
importance or significance than future recommendations, but merely represent
a starting point.

Sincerely yours,

Gladys Woodhams

Ken Rolandelli

James Beeger

Patrick Cannon

Madeleine Gleason

Dale Meyer
