<br />, <br /> <br />within the respective jurisdictions of eachof the agencies <br />aforementioned will be processed and transferred through the <br />aforementioned transfer station; and <br />WHEREAS, said agencies desire to facilitate the construction <br />of said solid waste transfer station and to assure its continued <br />availability for the collection and transfer of solid waste <br />from their respective jurisdictions to the final disposal site; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there has been presented to and reviewed by this <br />Council a proposed Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement by and <br />between the aforementioned agencies to effectuate the foregoing <br />purpose; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BElT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That certain agreement entitled "Joint Exercise of <br />Powers Agreement - South Bayside Transfer Station" by and <br />between the County of San Mateo, a chartered county, the <br />cities of Atherton, Belmont, Burlingame, Foster City, Hillsborough, <br />Menlo Park, and San Carlos, general law cities, and the cities <br />of Redwood City and San Mateo, chartered cities, and the <br />Menlo Park Sanitary District, a sanitary district (form dated <br />MYIM:lg July-81), establishing the South Bayside Transfer Station <br />Authority, the stated purpose of which agreement is to facilitate <br />the construction of a Solid Waste Transfer Station, among other <br />matters, a copy of which agreement is on file in the office of <br />the City Clerk, to which copy reference is hereby made for the <br />full particulars thereof, is hereby approved, and the Mayor and <br />City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute said agreement for <br />and on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
