<br />SWC:mf 11/9/81 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N N O. <br /> <br />9 005 <br /> <br />ORIGINJ~L <br />NOV 1 6 1981 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CALIFORNIA TRANSPORTATION <br />COMMISSION TO APPROVE A NEW PUBLIC ROAD CONNECTION <br />TO STATE ROUTE 101 AT BRITTAN AVENUE, COUNTY OF <br />SAN MATEO <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Holly Street and Industrial Road Intersection at <br /> <br />the westerly end of the State Route 101 and Holly Street Interchange <br /> <br />does not have adequate capacity for present traffic volumes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the lack of capacity at said intersection is adversely <br /> <br />impacting the operation of the State Freeway system and local street <br /> <br />systems; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, traffic volumes are now being diverted from said <br /> <br />intersection and interchange to adjoining interchanges at Ralston <br /> <br />Avenue, Harbor Boulevard and Whipple Avenue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new public road connection to the southbound lanes <br /> <br />of State Route 101 at Brittan Avenue would divert traffic from Holly <br /> <br />Street, Ralston Avenue, Harbor Boulevard and Whipple Avenue; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLm>JS: <br /> <br />This Council does hereby request the California Transportation <br /> <br />Commission to approve a new public road connection to the southbound <br /> <br />lanes of State Route 101 at Brittan Avenue in the County of San Mateo. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />9 005 <br />
