<br />CGM:mf 6/2/82 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />JUN 7 1982 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. 9 133 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION <br />OF JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH SEQUOIA UNION <br />HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 5 (commencing with ~6500), Division 7, <br /> <br />Title 1 of the Government Code provides a procedure by which <br /> <br />one or more public agencies by agreement may jointly exercise <br /> <br />any power common to such contracting public agencies; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Sequoia Union High School District and the <br /> <br />City of Redwood City desire to enter into a joint powers <br /> <br />agreement for the purpose of purchasing supplies and equipment; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has recommended to this <br /> <br />Council that the City of Redwood City enter into a joint powers <br /> <br />agreement with the Sequoia Union High School District because <br /> <br />by so doing significant savings to the City will be realized <br /> <br />by the cooperative purchase of supplies and equipment; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That certain agreement by and between the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City and Sequoia Union High School District entitled "Agreement <br /> <br />for Cooperative Activities Including Cooperative Purchasing," <br /> <br />a copy of which agreement is on file in the office of the City <br /> <br />Clerk to which reference is hereby made for the full particulars <br /> <br />thereof, is hereby approved and the City Manager is hereby <br /> <br />authorized to execute said agreement for and on behalf of the <br /> <br />City of Redwood city. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />9133 <br />
