<br />GAS/CGM/rk 5/19/83 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N o. 9 35 1 <br /> <br />- _._------- <br /> <br />OR\G\NlC\.L <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND THE <br />COUNTY OF SAN MATEO RELATING TO ENGINEERING SERVICES <br />FOR FIFTH AVENUE PUMP STATION OUTLET (THE BAYFRONT <br />CANAL) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Fifth Avenue Pump Station and its tributary <br /> <br />area have proved to be a drainage problem to both the City of <br /> <br />Redwood City and the County of San Mateo; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Fifth Avenue Pump Station discharges into a <br /> <br />channel known as the Bayfront Canal; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the recently completed investigation of the Fifth <br /> <br />Avenue Storm Drainage System has identified the Bayfront Canal as <br /> <br />a critical link in the correction of the drainage problem; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Bayfront Canal was not included in the scope of <br /> <br />the Fifth Avenue Drainage Investigation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is of mutual benefit to the City and to the <br /> <br />County to undertake an engineering study of the Bayfront Canal, <br /> <br />including appurtenances; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an agreement has been presented to this Council for <br /> <br />its approval which provides for such engineering study; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That certain agreement by and between the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City and the County of San Mateo in the form of "Exhibit A," <br /> <br />attached hereto, is hereby approved, and the Mayor is hereby <br /> <br />authorized and directed to execute said agreement, with <br /> <br />attestation by the City Clerk, for and on behalf of the <br /> <br />City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />9351 <br />
