<br />SW~:rb 12/09/83 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />9494 <br /> <br />ORiGINAL <br />DEe 1 2 1983 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />EMERGENCY AGREEMENT WITH RAISER CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. <br />FOR PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A PRE-ENGINEERED <br />METAL BUILDING WITH FOUNDATION, FOR TEMPORARY <br />RELOCATION OF FIRE DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT; AND AUTHORIZING <br />SOLICITATION OF PROPOSALS FOR FINANCING THEREOF <br /> <br />WHEREAS, upon consideration of evidence presented to it as <br /> <br />to safety hazards of Fire Station No.1, this Council, by Minute <br /> <br />Order No. 83-170, adopted November 21, 1983, directed City staff <br /> <br />to proceed with all possible speed to move the firemen and <br /> <br />equipment to safe, temporary quarters; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, proposals for temporary quarters were solicited by <br /> <br />the Fire Department, and one proposal was received, from Raiser <br /> <br />Construction Co., Inc., for a pre-engineered metal building with <br /> <br />foundation for housing of fire department equipment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has determined that <br /> <br />financing said building from a financial institution may be more <br /> <br />cost advantageous than direct purchase; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 68 of the Charter <br /> <br />of the City of Redwood City, relating to emergencies, and in <br /> <br />accordance with the provisions of Section 2.76 of the Redwood <br /> <br />City Code, this Council has, on motion duly made on the affirma- <br /> <br />tive vote of at least five (5) members of said Council, suspended <br /> <br />the requirements of said Code relating to formal bidding proce- <br /> <br />dures with regard to the agreement hereinafter approved. <br /> <br />Q Ii () "i. <br />..I c:1~j ':t <br />
