<br />D'RS:rb 12/08/83 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />!! 2. 9 4 9 6 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />DEe 1 2 1983 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTICIPATION IN CALIFORNIA <br />PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION 1983 ENERGY MAINTENANCE <br />INCENTIVE PROG~1, AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR <br />INCENTIVE REBATES FOR STREET LIGHTING COSTS PURSUANT <br />THERETO, AND AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING IN <br />CONNECTION THEREWITH <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the California Public Utilities Commission <br /> <br />authorized funding for a 1983 Energy Management Incentive <br /> <br />Program, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Pacific Gas and Electric ("PG&E") has allocated <br /> <br />budgeted funds for Energy Management Incentives including the <br /> <br />upgrading of customer-owned street and highway lighting, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, conversion of street and/or highway lighting owned <br /> <br />by the City of Redwood City to more efficient lighting qualifies <br /> <br />for the incentive program and will result in lower energy costs; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to participate in the afore- <br /> <br />mentioned program and to authorize an application for funding in <br /> <br />connection therewith; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Participation in the California Public Utilities <br /> <br />Commission 1983 Energy Maintenance Incentive Program is hereby <br /> <br />approved, and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed <br /> <br />to develop a project description, purchase necessary materials, <br /> <br />arrange for construction forces, and to apply for incentive <br /> <br />rebates for street lighting costs in connection therewith. <br /> <br />
