<br />DCB:djg-c 3/22/84 <br /> <br />OHlGINAL <br />APR 2 1984 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />9550 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR <br />PARTICIPATION IN THE TRI-CITY DRUG SUPPRESSION IN THE <br />SCHOOLS GRANT PROPOSAL BETWEEN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />AND THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City recognizes the substance <br /> <br />abuse problem in this community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there are few resources in the area of alcohol and <br /> <br />drug abuse available to youth of this community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, professionals working with youth lack appropriate <br /> <br />knowledge to identify youngsters with drug or alcohol - related <br /> <br />problems; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City desires to participate in <br /> <br />that certain project designated "Tri-City Drug Suppression In the <br /> <br />Schools Grant Proposal", to be funded in part by the State of <br /> <br />California, acting by and through the Office of Criminal Justice <br /> <br />Planning ("OCJP"); <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. This Council hereby approves the City's participation in <br /> <br />the Tri-City Drug Suppression In the School Grant and hereby <br /> <br />authorizes the City Manager to submit an application for a grant <br /> <br />award from OCJP and to execute all required documents for <br /> <br />participation in the Tri-City Drug Suppression In the School <br /> <br />Grant. <br /> <br />9550 <br />
