<br />Dr.B:djg-c 4/2/84 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />9558 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />APR 2 3 1984 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ENDORSING SUNDAY, APRIL 29, 1984 REDWOOD <br />CITY "WALKATHON" FOR THE MARCH OF DIMES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to support the Sunday <br /> <br />April 29, 1984 Redwood City 32 kilometer walk as part of the <br /> <br />national "Walk America" program sponsored by the March of <br /> <br />Dimes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Redwood City is one of approximately 1100 cities <br /> <br />throughout the united States supporting such walks; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Redwood City citizens have supported the Walkathon <br /> <br />in the past by raising more than one millions dollars locally <br /> <br />since the program was started by Ms. priscilla Mosher in <br /> <br />1974; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Redwood City citizens have demonstrated their <br /> <br />interest in the Walkathon by becoming contributing sponsors, <br /> <br />through their pledges of 259 per kilometer per participant or by <br /> <br />signing up as participants; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />This Council does hereby commend, and lends its support to <br /> <br />the efforts of participants and sponsors, and does hereby endorse <br /> <br />the Sunday, April 29, 1984 Redwood City "Walkathonll for the March <br /> <br />of Dimes. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />9 558 <br />
