<br />DCB:rks 6/14/84 <br /> <br />ORIGIN!\L <br /> <br />9602 <br /> <br />JUN 1 8 1984 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />PROGRAH SUPPLEMENT NO. 9 UNDER MASTER AGREEMENT FOR <br />LOCAL AGENCY FEDERAL AID SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS <br />FOR VETERANS BOULEVARD/CHESTNUT STREET RAILROAD <br />CROSSING <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City entered into a Master <br /> <br />Agreement for Federal-Aid Program on October 3, 1977 pursuant to <br /> <br />the Federal Highway Safety Act with the State of California; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council seeks in accordance with Paragraph 2 of <br /> <br />Article II of the aforementioned agreement funding for Veterans <br /> <br />Boulevard/Chestnut Street Railroad Crossing, to install No. 9 <br /> <br />automotive gates and cantilevered flashing lights at the <br /> <br />intersection of Veterans Boulevard and Chestnut Street; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council seeks to provide the necessary traffic <br /> <br />safety <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Veterans <br /> <br />Boulevard <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />Chestnut <br /> <br />Street <br /> <br />intersection; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Execution of Program Supplement No. 9 under Master <br /> <br />Agreement 04-5029 is hereby authorized in order to secure the <br /> <br />necessary funds for installation of railroad crossing protection <br /> <br />devices at the intersection of Veterans Boulevard and Chestnut <br /> <br />Street. <br /> <br />2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> <br />take all necessary or appropriate action to execute Program <br /> <br />9602 <br />
