Many residents will likely be encouraged
to ride transit simply because it offers quick access to major employers-but the developer can
further encourage transit ridership by making improvements to bus shelters adjacent to the
site as a part of this project. Hopefully, densification along this corridor will eventually support
expanded transit service.

Furthermore, one of the strengths of this project is the developer's commitment to working
cooperatively and constructively with local residents. Nicholson, Lamb Venture has carefully
considered the opinions of nearby homeowners and has changed the project for the better as a
result.

In closing, we encourage the City Council's approval of the 885 Woodside Road project as a
means of protecting open space and promoting livable communities. The 885 Woodside project
itself, as well as the developer's efforts to reach out the community about it, should serve as a
model for future growth along Woodside Road and other key thoroughfares in the Redwood City.

Regards,

~~

Marla Wilson
Livable Communities Outreach Coordinator

CC: Maureen Riordan, Project Planner

Page 2 of2
